Early this morning (Monday, Feb. 14, 2022), frontline healthcare workers at Advocate Sherman Hospital were surprised with a special Valentine’s Day delivery of carnations from Illinois Reps. Anna Moeller and Suzanne Ness.
Along with the flowers, Moeller and Ness collected more than 450 valentines and notes of gratitude from local schools, libraries and community members to share with about 300 Sherman team members as they arrived for their 7 a.m. shift at the hospital.
“This expression of love and gratitude from the community means so much, especially after strain of the latest surge,” said Sheri De Shazo, president at Advocate Sherman Hospital. “Receiving a personal note of appreciation or support and a bright carnation, it’s a reminder to the team that their hard work, selfless dedication and care for others doesn’t go unnoticed. We are so grateful to the community for your support, and please know that your valentines made our day.”
Valentines were collected at the district offices of Ness and Moeller, the Dundee Township Park District-Rakow Center, the Taylor Family Branch YMCA, and local schools.
