The Illinois Department of Employment Security is the code department of the Illinois state government that administers state unemployment benefits, runs the employment service and Illinois Job Bank, and publishes labor market information.

McHenry County Workforce Network has a variety of programs and services for employers and job seekers needing assistance in meeting the challenges of today’s job market.  We are an affiliate of Illinois workNet, which is a consolidated effort to provide a one-stop system for employment-related services in McHenry County and part of a nationwide, grant-funded system.

The Workforce Development Division provides services to ready the workforce for employment through federally-funded programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Our program serves the residents of Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb Counties and is overseen by a local Workforce Development Board, which includes representatives from across the three-county area.​
