DESCRIPTION:VIRTUAL SEMINAR:  Special Enrollment Period for ACA Health Insurance \n\nHosted by:  State Senator Don DeWitte, Representative Dan Ugaste and Representative Suzanne Ness  with guest speakers from the Department of  Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) and Department of Insurance\nAbout:  Due to COVID-19, the federal government has opened a Special Enrollment Period (SEC) for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance Marketplace through May 15. Senator DeWitte, Representative Dan Ugaste and Representative Suzanne Ness invite all Illinoisans who need health insurance to participate in their free virtual event. The April 8 event is also open to existing ACA enrollees who would like to change plans within the ACA Marketplace.\nThe virtual event will feature representatives of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) and the Illinois Department of Insurance, who will discuss the special enrollment period of the ACA Marketplace and provide information about the new SEP, including eligibility for the Medicaid program and how to enroll.
